Off the ground Sleeping, for offroading or overlanding

Did you spend $2000 on a rooftop tent? Vehicle feel sketchy on some of those steep trails? Let's face it, she's never going to go out wheeling. That's why I bought this tent cot. Lighter. Cheaper. Low CG for the Jeep. Get's me off the ground to avoid those pesky ants, scorpions and snakes. Truth be told, I'd like to get a Darche Airvolution Swag; but, not for that price. Probably takes 10 times longer to set up, than a Swag; and, that's including cheating by using a $20 Air Mattress Pump, plugged into my cigarette lighter. First time I set this up was in my living room, and I used the foot pump. It worked. At least that can be said. Lot's of leg exercise. Lot's & lot's of exercise. Use an electric air mattress pump instead. First night of camping, I found myself using my camping chair to set some tent cot parts on, while setting it up. I underinflated the air mattress and at 4200' above sea level, it let some cold in. I do not recommend the sleeping bag included for extreme cold weather. I used my -15 Deg Sleeping Bag, and even this required two pairs of thermals; but, otherwise, the tent cot worked great. The second night of camping was higher and colder, 5500' above sea level, but, I fully inflated the air mattress and this helped tremendously. I also brought in my morning clothes and socks; before, hitting the sack; and, getting up was glorious. Super happy with this tent cot. My buddy in his rooftop tent froze up high, in the wind. (currently considering an even colder rated sleeping bag). My other two buddies slept in their vehicles - not well. I slept GREAT! 3rd night of camping, was below 800' above sea level and prepping for cold weather left me sweating in the morning; but, I can say: THE TENT COT SLEEPING SYSTEM WORKS. I slept better than any of my buddies. Like anything, there are drawbacks. Previously mentioned is the sleeping bag isn't rated for extreme cold. Only one entry/exit. No pouch to put my car keys in. My #1 complaint? There's nothing provided to keep the rain fly off the screen, at the top of the tent and this causes a lot of condensation on the inside of the tent, in the mornings. I've been thinking of how I can solve this problem; but, I hope this review causes some development, for a fix to this problem. Otherwise, If considering sleeping arrangements for your camping adventures, if you want to sleep great, consider off the ground sleeping, consider a proper sleeping bag for the expected temps, consider this Outsunny Tent Cot. It worked for me. One buddy is already considering one.
