It's a leash. It's a little thin, but nothing to be bothered by. Not only that, but it feels durable and sturdy while still being flexible. I got the 4' size and my dog doesn't really pull on the leash, so I can't attest to what it's like under strain, but it'd hold up to a ton of rough environments. I don't know if it matters at all, but you could cut it with a fairly sharp knife. That's a good thing for me at least, for emergencies or what not. The handle seems to be well stitched also, so no worries there. Would buy another
